The web page presents an initial overview of the 2013 multibeam mapping program of the MV Nuliajuk.

The RV Nuliajuk is a 19m fisheries research vessel owned by the Fisheries and Sealing Division of the Dept. Environment, Government of Nunavut (GN). The  prime mandate of the vessel is to conduct a ~10 week fisheries research agenda off SE Baffin Island from mid July to end of September. On either side of this two and a half month agenda there is time for useful operations in Labrador (before) and SE Baffin area (after).  That time is currently being utilized for a seabed mapping program. The seabed mapping program is funded jointly by GN, the Canadian Hydrographic Service (CHS) and the ArcticNet NCE. The actual mapping is undertaken by the Ocean Mapping Group at the University of New Brunswick (UNB).

There are three cruise reports for the 2013 season, as well as a cruise report for 2012 and online distribution website links below. The first report details a June/July survey in Lake Melville while the Nuliajuk was waiting for the sea ice to melt for a safe transit North. The second report details the first leg of Southeast Baffin Island surveys (Oct. 2nd-19th) which achieved ArcticNet and GN objectives within the fjords around the Cumberland Peninsula from Qikiqtarjuaq to Pangnirtung. The final report details the second leg of Southeast Baffin Island surveys (Oct. 19th-30th) which achieved the three objectives set out by GN and CHS between Pangnirtung and Iqaluit.
