BAY OF FUNDY MULTIBEAM COMPILATION
Overview

As part of ongoing collaborative Federal and University-based science programs, multibeam sonar bathymetry and backscatter have been collected in the Bay of Fundy since 1992. Most recently, as part of the Geoscience for Ocean Management (GOM) Program within Natural Resources Canada and as part of the Ocean Action Plan, jointly between Natural Resources and the Dept. of Fisheries and Oceans, an enlarged mapping component has been undertaken in 2006 and 2007. This mapping prgram is expected to end in 2008.

Images herein represent the state of the mapping at the end of 2007.

All these data, taken together represent a massive resource of seabed information. This set of web pages presents a processing and integration effort, lead by the Ocean Mapping Group at the University of New Brunswick.
